WE Leadership Team adds Sara Pearson Specter to advisory committee

Cincinnati, OH (October 21, 2008)—Upon graduation from WE Lead, a Women Excel (WE) program designed and administered by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Sara Pearson Specter has accepted an invitation to join the WE Leadership team.

“I benefitted greatly from the connections I made and the experiences I had as a member of WE Lead Class II,” says Specter, president/owner of Moxie Marketing LLC. “I’ve been enthusiastically promoting the WE experience all year—this honor offers me a great opportunity to lend even more support to a great program.”

Meeting quarterly, the primary role of the Leadership Team is to plan, energize and implement the framework of specific programs and initiatives that are the components of success for Women Excel, a series of programs launched by the Chamber in 2006 focused on helping women grow professionally.

To ensure that the program is aligned with the needs of professional women, a Leadership Team was established as a guiding body. The WE Leadership Team consists of successful and committed women leaders representing the diverse mix of member companies of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. The group actively recruits program participants while pursuing and securing financial resources to support the initiative.

In addition to working with Chamber staff in implementing WE events and programs, team members’ shared experiences and insights regarding trends affecting women in the Cincinnati USA region are incorporated into the programming. Leadership Team members also help identify speakers, sponsors and financial resources to advance program goals—as well as participate in, and serve as ambassadors for, the WE program and its events.

Four programs currently comprise the WE series:

• WE Lead – a leadership development program for women of any age or career level

• WE Speak – successful women go beyond the bios to tell their stories and share success strategies in an informal, interactive setting

• WE Celebrate – an awards program honoring the success of women-owned businesses

• WE Link – Athena Powerlink, a mentoring program for women-owned businesses

Specter opened Moxie Marketing LLC in July 2001. The full-service marketing communications company works with a broad range of business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies.
